A honeycomb structure capable of maintaining high durability over a long period of time and a sealing material layer for firmly bonding or sealing the same are proposed. In addition, a honeycomb structural body having high gas purification efficiency is proposed. The honeycomb structured body has a columnar honeycomb porous ceramic member in which cells serving as a plurality of exhaust gas flow paths are disposed in parallel with a cell wall, and a seal material layer having a specific surface area of 10 to 100 m 2 / g interposed between the ceramic members. It is a preferred embodiment of the present invention, wherein the plurality of porous ceramic members are bonded together under the sealing material layer to be configured as an exhaust gas purification device. |
