abstract The lamp assembly is configured to be powered by induction from the primary coil. The lamp assembly includes a lamp circuit consisting of a lamp and a secondary coil connected in series. In a first aspect, the lamp circuit includes a capacitor connected in series with the lamp and the secondary coil to adjust the resonance state of the circuit. The capacitor is preferably chosen to have a reactance substantially equal to or slightly less than the impedance of the lamp and the reactance of the secondary induction coil. In a second aspect, the lamp assembly includes a sealed transparent sleeve that completely covers the lamp circuit such that the transparent sleeve is completely closed and impermeable.
