| abstract |
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for monitoring a cleaning process of a medical device. The device includes a contamination detector. The contaminant detector may detect inorganic and / or organic contaminants on medical devices or on standards covered with contaminants that may act as a surrogate indicator of the cleanliness of the medical device or used in cleaning or cleaning monitoring methods. The method of the present invention for monitoring a cleaning process of a medical device includes measuring contaminants removed from the medical device in accordance with the device of the present invention including a contamination detector. Preferably, the method further comprises determining when the device is sufficiently cleaned to be sterilized. |
