abstract The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery including a separator having excellent safety such as short circuit resistance and heat resistance, and the lithium secondary battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator for separating the two electrodes, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The separator includes a porous membrane formed by bonding a ceramic material and a binder, and the binder is made of an acrylic rubber having a peak of about 1240 cm −1 in the IR spectrum.
