abstract |
The present invention provides a polymer mixture of (a) dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and neutral methacrylic acid ester (MM / MAE) and (b) cellulose ester in an amount effective to mask the taste in an aqueous vehicle, wherein cellulose ester to MM The polymer weight ratio of / MAE relates to a liquid composition for oral administration comprising a pharmaceutically active agent coated with from about 40:60 to about 90:10, preferably about 60:40). The liquid composition utilizes a "reverse enteric coating" which is soluble at acidic pH of the stomach, generally 1.0 to 4.0, and relatively insoluble at non-acidic pH of the mouth. The coating generally provides for fast release and absorption of the drug, which is desirable for liquid dosage forms. |
