titleOfInvention | Method for preparing pharmaceutical composition comprising peptide compound and carrier macromolecule and pharmaceutical composition prepared therefrom |
abstract | In the present invention, a sustained release pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically active ionic peptide and a water insoluble salt of a counterionic carrier macromolecule. The peptide may be an LHRH antagonist such as Setrorelix and the macromolecule may be an anionic polysaccharide such as carboxymethylcellulose. Salts are prepared by separately removing the counterions from the peptide and carrier macromolecules using ion exchangers to form free peptide / macromolecule ions. These free peptides and macromolecular ions are then combined to form a water insoluble peptide-macromolecular salt.n n n n Sustained Release, Peptide Compounds, Water Insoluble Salts, Carrier Macromolecules, LHRH Antagonists |
