| abstract | The modular plug connector assembly is coupled to a substrate provided at the rear portion of the connector housing which is adapted to receive one or more electronic components such as choke coils, transducers or other signal conditioning elements or magnetics. In a preferred embodiment the connector assembly comprises a single port pair and an isolating substrate provided on the rear portion of the housing. In another preferred embodiment the assembly comprises a multi-port “column and row” housing with multiple substrates received within the rear of the housing and each substrate has a signal conditioning element in which an input signal is received from the corresponding modular plug before exiting from the connector assembly. . In another embodiment the connector assembly comprises an indicator assembly having a plurality of optically transmissive conduits and the assembly is provided outside of the connector and the detachable external noise shield.
