titleOfInvention Tobacco products containing vitamin E
abstract According to the present invention substantially pure vitamin E type compounds can be added to tobacco and non-tobacco to obtain smokeable or smokeless products with less irritation and antioxidant benefits. In a preferred embodiment, ester analogs of substantially pure “dry” powdered vitamin E, such as vitamin E acid succinate or spray dried vitamin E acetate, are mixed directly with tobacco or non-tobacco products in the manufacturing process. These vitamin E analogs can be inserted into powder or microencapsulated into tobacco filter 20, holder and / or paper 26. Although not preferred, conventional oil forms of vitamin E can also be used in the present invention as long as they do not impair the appearance and function of smokeable or smokeless products.
