abstract | Nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys that can be age hardened for improved strength while maintaining high corrosion resistance include 19.5-22 wt.% Chromium; 15 to 17.5 wt.% Molybdenum; Up to 3 wt.% Iron; At most 1.5 wt.% Manganese; At most 0.5 wt.% Aluminum; At most 0.02 wt.% Carbon; At most 0.015 wt.% Boron; At most 0.5 wt.% Silicon; At most 1.5 wt.% Tungsten; Each contains up to 0.5 wt.% Of hafnium, tantalum and zirconium, with nickel and impurities present in the remainder. Certain alloying elements are present in amounts according to the equations disclosed herein. |
