titleOfInvention Thermal mass transfer imaging system
abstract A nanoporous receiver device for use in thermal mass transfer imaging applications is disclosed. The receiver element comprises a substrate having an image-receiving layer comprising a particulate material and a binder material. The substrate may comprise a material having a compressibility of at least 1% under a pressure of 1 MPa. In addition, a layer having a thickness of less than 50 μm may be provided between the substrate and the nanoporous receiving layer, including the entire material having a compressibility of at least 1% under a pressure of 1 MPa. Alternatively, the substrate may comprise only materials that have a compressive force of less than 1% under 1 MPa and the thickness of the substrate does not exceed 50 μm. The image-receiving layer comprises a particulate material and a binder material, wherein at least 50% of the pores having a void volume of 40% to 70% and a diameter larger than 30 nm have a diameter smaller than 300 nm and a diameter larger than 300 nm. At least 95% of the pores having a pore diameter distribution have a diameter smaller than 1000 nm.n n n n Thermal Mass Transfer Imaging System, Receiver Element
