titleOfInvention | Abrasion Resistant, Silane-Crosslinkable Polymer and Polymer Blend Compositions |
abstract | The present invention relates to crosslinkable elastomeric compositions comprising a silane grafted nonporous ethylene alpha-olefin interpolymer having a hardness (Shore A) of ≤ 85 and optionally a crystalline olefin polymer. Exposure to moisture converts the crosslinkable composition into a nonporous grafted and crosslinked elastomer composition having a hardness (Shore A) ≦ 85 and abrasion resistance greater than the crosslinkable composition. It is also more wear resistant than the non-grafted elastomer composition prepared from the same elastomer (s) and / or crystalline olefin polymer (s) and substantially free of grafting and crosslinking. Articles made from this composition include shoe soles.n n n Hardness, wear resistance, silane crosslinking, grafting |
