titleOfInvention Step-by-Step Condensation, Dynamic Vulcanization, to Prepare Substantially Unplasticized Plastic / Rubber Mixtures
abstract The present invention relates to a step-by-step method based on the condensation reaction of functional groups (reaction sites) in which the continuous dynamic vulcanization of a plurality of curable rubber mixture components is contained by each curable rubber. The process is carried out in three stages, in which the gases released during the condensation reaction are removed. It is essential to obtain a completely dense hard mixture which is an intermediate in the second step. This intermediate hard mixture contains a relatively large amount of plastic and is therefore much harder than the intended final mixture. In the third step, additional rubber and curing agent for uncured rubber are added to obtain the intended softness. This process carried out in an extruder yields a completely dense pellet which is injection molded to give a product having substantially the same specific gravity as the pellet.
