abstract | A method of biaxial stretching of a polymer film according to an overextension stretching profile for a final first direction stretching parameter and a final second direction stretching parameter is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of a) imparting a sufficiently high temperature to the film to allow a significant amount of biaxial stretching, b) the film with a peak first direction stretching parameter 48 of at least 1.2 times the final first direction stretching parameter.
