abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a polymer polyamide or polyester by melt-mixing a low molecular weight polyester and polyamide with a carbonyl bislactam of Formula 1 (wherein an integer of n = 3 to 15),n n n With the process according to the invention, a continuous increase in the molecular weight of the polyamide is obtained in 2 minutes, whereas it takes at least 10 minutes under comparative conditions with bislactam according to the art.
