abstract | Disclosed are antibodies that have specificity for the intracellular domains of two or more protein tyrosine phosphatases, methods for their preparation, and cells that produce such antibodies. Antibodies of the invention have specificity for the intracellular domains of phosphatase sebunits of both LAR and CD45, and in addition to the acquisition of new phosphatase by analysis and quantification of PTP, identification and detection of new PTP, and cloning, etc. Development of diagnostic methods useful for resistance and NIDDM, prevention and treatment of various diseases of syndrome X based on insulin resistance, and prevention and diagnosis of atherosclerosis and heart disease. |
