titleOfInvention Process For Making Thermally Stable Metal Coated Polymeric Monofilament or Yarn
abstract Monofilaments of yarns to be coated with electroless nickel are pretreated with acids and surfactants such that the surface of the monofilaments is water wettable and hardly mechanically decomposed. The pretreated yarn is passed through an electroless nickel coated bath under tension or small tension so that the electroless nickel can coat almost all single filament surfaces almost uniformly. The nickel coated yarn may then be coated with an electrolytic metal, such as copper, in the electrolytic metal plating step.
