abstract | The present invention provides a removal agent capable of removing not only nitrogen oxides but also other acid gases such as hydrogen chloride and sulfur oxides, carbon monoxide and dioxins by a simple and convenient single step of spraying powders or slurries, and those contained in the exhaust gas using the removers. It provides a method for removing harmful gases such as nitrogen oxides. The removing agent of the present invention includes an oxidizing agent and an inorganic powder. The removing agent of the present invention is in the form of a powder in which the oxidant is impregnated or coated with the inorganic powder or in the form of a slurry in which the inorganic powder is suspended in the oxidizing agent aqueous solution. In addition, the scavenger of the present invention may further include an acid or base, particularly a base, or a buffer to mitigate the change in pH for the adjustment of pH. |
