titleOfInvention Panal display device for adjusting the number of sustaining pulses according to display data and driving method thereof
abstract The present invention relates to a panel display device for data display using a memory function of a display cell selected from a plurality of display cells formed at intersections of a plurality of electrodes arranged in a matrix shape. A panel display device according to the present invention includes a display panel including a plurality of cells selectively discharged and emitting light, an address means for setting the plurality of cells to a state corresponding to display data, and a plurality of cells in accordance with the set state. And a display light emitting means for emitting light. Compensation period calculation circuits are formed in each subframe to adjust the number of sustain discharges, wherein luminance is obtained by display cells in each subframe according to the display load imposed for each subframe and calculated by the display load calculation circuit. The compensation period of the light emission period is calculated so that is a predetermined ratio. The number of sustain discharge pulses is adjusted in accordance with the compensation period of the light emission period.
