titleOfInvention Transparent layer for phase protection
abstract The present invention relates to an optically transparent protective layer 12, which is exposed for transfer from a release liner (not shown) to an imaged substrate. The layer has a composition comprising a vinyl resin, any acrylic resin, any plasticizer, and any stabilizer. The filling optionally comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive 16, which is adhered to the substrate 22 under pressure under pressure, and then the release liner is removed. The release liner has a Schifffield smoothness of 1 to 10. Also described herein are methods of making and using the layers. Phase 26 may be present between protective layer 12 and pressure sensitive adhesive 16.
