abstract |
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for topical administration comprising a topically acceptable antiviral substance in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid. This pharmaceutical composition can be used for the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of a herpesvirus infection in mammals, including humans. The present invention also relates to the use of a combination of topically acceptable antiviral agents and anti-inflammatory glucocorticoids in the manufacture of said medicaments for the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment. |
