abstract |
The present invention relates to a tonometer that accurately provides a predetermined amount of applanation of the cornea and measures the pressure inside the eye by measuring the amount of force necessary to realize the predetermined amount of flattening. . The system also uses an indenting element to indent the cornea using a predetermined applied force, and the distance of the indenting element inversely proportional to the pressure inside the eye moving to the cornea when the predetermined force is applied. By measuring the pressure inside the eye can be measured. Also provided is a method of using a tonometer to measure the hydrodynamic properties of the eye, especially the outflow facility. The tonometer includes a contact device for placement in contact with the cornea and an actuating mechanism to operate the contact mechanism, with a part planned for the cornea to provide a predetermined flattening amount. This system is also used to determine the pressure inside the eye based on the detection device for detecting when the predetermined flattening amount is realized and the amount of force of the contact mechanism to be applied against the cornea to obtain the predetermined flattening amount. It includes a calculation unit sensitive to the detection device. The indenting distance detection device is also used when the pressure inside the eye is detected by indenting. In carrying out this method, the system is used to measure the pressure inside the eye between successive stages leading out of the fluid inside the eye. |
