abstract | A circuit configuration of a display device having digital memory (DM) cells for each pixel is disclosed. The DM cell is constituted by one inverter circuit, and a DM switch circuit for controlling the electrical conduction between the pixel electrode and the DM is provided. In normal display, the DM switch circuit is made non-conductive between the DM cell and the pixel electrode, and full-color image display is performed by the moving picture data supplied to the signal line. In the still image display, the DM switch circuit conducts between the DM cell and the pixel electrode, and multi-color image display is performed by the still image data held in the DM cell. |
