abstract PURPOSE: Provided is an enzyme-based fuel additive which is added to fuel such as petroleum and coal to improve the combustion state of the fuel. CONSTITUTION: The enzyme-based fuel additive comprises 10 wt.% of a lactide derivative extracted from fruits, 85 wt.% of heavy oil or lamp oil and 5 wt.% of methyl tertiary butyl ether, wherein the lactide derivative is D-lactide, L-lactide, D-glycolide or D-citride.
