A dehydrogenation catalyst is prepared by a predoping method comprising mixing a predoping material with an iron oxide material to form a blend of iron oxide and the predoping material, heating the blend to a predoping state and then forming a catalyst. Catalysts prepared in this way are useful for dehydrogenation of compositions having one or more carbon-carbon double bonds. Such catalytic uses include the conversion of ethylbenzene to styrene. |
