abstract The present invention relates to the realization of a VA-type liquid crystal display device having good visual characteristics while maintaining contrast, operation speed and the like as in the prior art.n n n In the polarizing plate by the birefringence action of the liquid crystal which is provided when a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal panel between the first and second two substrates, the liquid crystal panel sandwiching the liquid crystal having negative dielectric anisotropy and a polarizing plate. A liquid crystal display device for controlling the transmission of light of a light source, wherein the liquid crystal panel includes domain regulating means for regulating a direction in which the liquid crystal is oriented when a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal, and the domain regulating means is provided with respect to the substrate. When viewed from the vertical direction, the pixels have a plurality of first linear components extending in the first direction in the pixel and a second linear components extending in a second direction different from the first direction. It is characterized by arrange | positioning so that the component of the said 1st linear form may be substantially parallel.
