titleOfInvention | Artificial ICE Skating Rink Assembly |
abstract | It relates to an artificial ice skating link assembly which can be used indoors or outdoors all weather, requires only a few assembly parts and accessories for assembly, and is easy to assemble and maintain. In one embodiment of the invention, there is an artificial ice skating link consisting of a plurality of panel means for providing an ice skating surface, each panel means having an elongated channel in which longitudinal and transverse axes are arranged. The elongated spline means are slidably inserted into the channel in the lateral direction along the transverse axis of the channel and slidably received in other channels of the other panel means which are in sliding engagement with the spline and are laterally forced. In this way, separate panel means are fully supported by spline means for relative movement along the transverse axis of each panel. The skating link assemblies of the present invention are not laminated and can provide a low frictional strengthening of the surface for skating with a relatively high level of lubricant contained in the panel components. In addition, the skating link assembly is wood-free, making the assembly well suited for the outdoors, where it is exposed to elements year after year. |
