titleOfInvention Intraocular implant, delivery device, and method of implantation
abstract An intraocular implant for treating glaucoma includes a tube 32 and a flanged disc 34 connected to the outlet end 50 of the tube 32. The tube passage 38 is small enough to inhibit the flow of stable water through the tube passage 38 when the IOP is lower than the threshold amount. The inlet end of the tube has an inclined surface 40 and one or more circumferential holes 42. One or more outwardly retaining protrusions 52 are provided for securing within the eye. Flanged discs have an outer rim and one or more upright posts. The implant is implanted using a rod-shaped tool 60 having a handle, a tip for insertion into the tube passage of the implant and a retention mechanism for supporting the implant.
