titleOfInvention Improved burn-in socket device
abstract The burn-in socket according to the present invention moves and biases the lid 101 of the IC package 100 received on the seat 200 of the base member 20 so as to move the biased contact arm 21 of the contact element 21 mounted in the base member. A latch member 60 capable of engaging the lead 212 and the lead 101 is provided. The linkage mechanism 50 moving in accordance with the vertical movement of the cover member 30 transmits the movement of the cover member to the latch member 60. The linkage mechanism 50 has an arm 52 whose one end is pivotally connected to the cover member 30 and the opposite end is pivotally connected to an intermediate portion of the lever body 54. The lever body has one end pivotally connected to the base member 20 and an opposite end connected to the latch member 60. The return spring 40 provides a bias and provides selective contact force to keep the cover normally separated from the base member. The sockets according to the invention can be used with a wide variety of IC packages before or after the formation of leads extending from the IC packages.
