The present invention utilizes non-flowable polymer powders having an average particle size of 1 to 1,000 μm, prepared by mixing polydiorganosiloxane with silica filler, using conventional apparatus such as a single screw extruder or, preferably, a double screw extruder. The present invention relates to a method of imparting flame retardancy to an organic resin by uniformly dispersing it in an organic resin. When the non-flowable polymer powder is used at a concentration of 0.5 to 25 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin, the combustion characteristics of the modified resin are significantly improved, resulting in a significantly lower exothermic rate, production of smoke and release of toxic carbon monoxide compared to unmodified resins. do. |
