abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a recombinant interferon-α from which the methionine present at the amino terminus is removed from the transformed recombinant E. coli. In the present invention, a method for preparing recombinant interferon-α from which amino terminal methionine is removed is treated with aminopeptidase to partially purified recombinant interferon-α, and purified methionine-removed recombinant interferon-α using cation exchange chromatography. According to the present invention, the recombinant interferon-α from which the amino terminal methionine is removed can be produced more reliably and clinically and more securely suitable for a recombinant protein for therapeutic purposes intended for in vivo administration.
