abstract In one aspect, the present invention provides a solvent comprising (i) a high boiling polar solvent; (Ii) oxygenated solvents; And (iii) a polyester resin of (a) carboxylic acid wheat glycol in a solvent mixture comprising an aromatic solvent; (b) polyethylene poly (phenyl isocyanate), diphenylmethane diisocyanate or mixtures thereof; And (c) a solution comprising a solution of silane-containing moieties. Here, the weight ratio of (a) :( b) ranges from about 0.25: 1 to 2.0: 1.0. In a second aspect, the invention provides a composition comprising (a) 5 to 50 weight percent of a polyester resin of carboxylic acid and glycol; (b) 5 to 50% by weight polyethylene poly (phenyl isocyanate), diphenylmethane diisocyanate or mixtures thereof; (c) 0.1 to 50 weight percent of silane-containing residues; (d) 0.1 to 50% by weight of high boiling polar solvents; (e) 10 to 70 weight percent of oxygenated solvent; And (f) a solution of 1 to 50% by weight of an aromatic solvent. When the primer of the present invention is used to coat an acid resistant paint-coated metal substrate prior to application to a urethane adhesive, it is specifically referred to as a "quick cure" adhesive consisting of an isocyanate-functional prepolymer and dimorpholindiethyl ether. In use, it has been found that the bonding of metal to glass advantageously provides improved adhesion properties.
