abstract | The present invention discloses a silica glass composition for a sol-gel process. The composition is characterized by containing silica particles, polyetherimide as a main gelling agent, formamide as a gel strengthening and drying aid, a dispersant and deionized water. When the silica glass composition of the present invention is used, it is possible to manufacture silica glass economically by excluding the use of an expensive gelling agent, which is more environmentally friendly than preparing silica glass according to a conventional sol-gel process. |
