titleOfInvention | Copolymers of Polyaspartic Acid, Polycarboxylic Acid and Polyamine |
abstract | Copolymers of polyaspartic acid suitable for inhibiting scale deposition may react with maleic acid, additional polycarboxylic acids and ammonia in a stoichiometric excess at 120-350 ° C., preferably 180-300 ° C. to yield polysuccinimide. Obtained by providing a copolymer. These intermediate polysuccinimide copolymers can then be converted to the salts of the copolymers of polyaspartic acid by hydrolysis with hydroxides. Such copolymers are useful because they prevent scale deposits from minerals and find applicability to water treatment. Other applications include anti-scaling adducts for cleaning agents. Such copolymers also inhibit dental plaque and plaque formation in the dentist. |
