titleOfInvention Magneto-optical recording medium and method for reproducing the same
abstract The super-resolution magneto-optical recording medium of the present invention has a reproduction layer, an in-plane magnetization layer, and a recording layer. The reproducing layer and the recording layer are rare earth-transition metal alloys that are sperm-bonded and contain more transition metal lattice moments relative to the compensating composition, and when they exist alone, they become a perpendicular magnetization state. The in-plane magnetization layer undergoes exchange coupling with the reproducing layer at a temperature below the Curie temperature, and the reproducing layer becomes in-plane magnetization state. Since the reproducing layer becomes in-plane magnetization state by the in-plane magnetization layer, it is not necessary to use a material containing a large amount of lattice metal lattice moment. Therefore, the direction of the transition metal lattice moment between the reproduction layer and the recording layer can be made parallel at a high temperature portion above the Curie temperature of the in-plane magnetization layer. Therefore, the polarity of reproduction of the medium becomes the same as that of the magneto-optical recording medium of the type having no reproduction layer, and it becomes easy to obtain compatibility.
