abstract |
In the present invention, the oxygen lattice has a form of pseudo-hexagonal close packing (..AABB ..), and the space group P6 3 / mmc or hexagonal (orthorhombic symmetry) crystal system of hexagonal symmetry system. The present invention relates to a method for producing manganese dioxide having a layered crystal structure by heating a novel layered manganese dioxide having a space group Cmcm and the mixture composed of an alkali metal compound and a manganese compound at a high temperature. During the manufacturing process, a bismuth (Bi) compound or a lead (Pb) compound or a lithium (Li) compound may be added to improve charge and discharge reversibility to stabilize the layered crystal structure of manganese dioxide. The layered crystal structure manganese dioxide is suitable for use as a lithium secondary battery cathode material because it does not transfer to the spinel phase during the charge and discharge process has excellent charge and discharge reversibility. |
