abstract A method of molecular weight fractionation of polyhydrogen silsesquioxanes with excellent reproducibility is described, which provides polyhydrogen silsesquioxanes having free molecular weight selectivity and excellent storage stability. The method dissolves polyhydrogen silsesquioxane in a nonpolar solvent that does not contain active hydrogen; A polar solvent containing no active hydrogen is added to the resulting solution to precipitate the polyhydrogen silsesquioxane; Collecting the desired molecular weight fraction of the polyhydrogen silsesquioxane.
