abstract Microcavity organic light emitters are disclosed in which the change in emission spectra with a viewing angle is reduced. In an embodiment, the microcavity EL element has a microcavity layer structure stacked on a symmetrical and non-planar surface of the substrate. The microcavity layer structure includes at least a active layer having a first reflection layer on the non-planar substrate surface, a second reflection layer, and an organic material capable of electroluminescence between the first reflection layer and the second reflection layer. do. The non-planar surface is a shallow cone, frustum, domed surface, or a combination thereof.
