abstract | An optically isotropic film of aromatic polyethersulfone useful as a substrate for liquid crystal display devices, and an optically anisotropic monoaxially oriented film of aromatic polyethersulfone useful as a retardation plate for liquid crystal display devices. The optically isotropic film contains at least 60% by weight of 1,3-dioxolane and an aromatic polyethersulfone solution composition containing 15 to 40 parts by weight of a solvent capable of dissolving the aromatic polyethersulfone and 10 parts by weight of an aromatic polyethersulfone. Was cast on a substrate and the flexible solution composition containing the solvent was heated to evaporate the solvent to prepare an optically isotropic film. |
