titleOfInvention | Sequence Specific Binding Polymers for Double-Stranded Nucleic Acids |
abstract | The present invention describes a polymer composition effective to bind at least two differently oriented Watson / Crick base pairs at a selected position in a target sequence to a target sequence of a double stranded polynucleotide in a sequence-specific manner.n n n The composition includes an uncharged backbone having a 5- or 6-membered ring backbone and selected bases attached to the backbone that are effective to specifically hydrogen bond with base pairs oriented differently in the target sequence. Subunits useful in the preparation of polymer compositions are also disclosed.n n n The invention also includes (i) a method of pairing and binding a first free or polymer-terminal subunit and (ii) a liquid sample to isolate target stranded double stranded nucleic acid fragments having base pairs of the selected sequence. |
