6,13-dihydroquinacridone or a derivative thereof is oxidized at elevated temperature in the presence of a base, a dimethyl sulfoxide medium and a quinone catalyst, the resulting pigment solution is poured in to precipitate the quinacridone pigment and then the desired quinacridone. A method for producing a quinacridone pigment, comprising isolating a product. |
