abstract A cover sheet is provided that covers an absorbent in an absorbent hygiene article. The cover sheet is elastic in one or more directions and has pores 30 therethrough. The coversheet includes an upper layer 36 that includes a nonwoven fibrous material and faces outwardly of the absorbent body, an intermediate layer that includes an elastic film 11, and a lower layer 32 that includes a nonwoven fibrous material and faces inwardly toward the absorbent body. . The upper and lower layers are substantially connected to the intermediate layer only at the perimeter 38 of the pores.
