abstract | Provided is a method for selectively preparing a trans-type silacyclohexane compound from the diarylsilacyclohexane compound of the general formula (1) below.n n n n n n n n In the above formula, Ar and Ar 'independently represent a phenyl group or tolyl group, and Q represents a group (A) shown below.n n n n n n n n Diarylsilacyclohexane is converted to dihalosilacyclohexane and then to hydrohalosilacyclohexane either directly or via a dialkoxylation and / or reduction step. Hydrohalosilacyclohexane is finally reacted with an organometallic compound having a group (B) of the kind shown below to give a silacyclohexane compound of general formula (C).n n n n n n n n In the above, Q 'and Q each have a group as defined above. |
