abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a higher purity cyclodextrin by selectively precipitating the soluble dextrin produced during cyclodextrin preparation by adding an organic solvent to the reaction product containing cyclodextrin. When the cyclodextrin is produced by the method of the present invention, the manufacturing process is simple, economical, and irrelevant to the method of producing the cyclodextrin, thus the field of application of the present invention is wide. In addition, the cyclodextrin prepared by the method of the present invention may be used in food, medicine, pesticides and flavoring for the purpose of stabilizing volatiles, elimination of bitterness, solubilization of insoluble materials and stabilization of color.
