Electrostatic Image Toner |
abstract |
The electrostatically charged toner of the present invention is a metal compound of (a) binder resin, (b) colorant or magnetic material, (c) aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A), and (d) aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A). It is formed from toner particles containing. The metal compound of the aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A) and the aromatic hydroxycarbocarboxylic acid (A) is contained in a weight ratio of 1:99 to 10:90. As a result of the addition of a small amount of aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A) in addition to the metal compound of the aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A), the resulting toner has a rapid chargeability in a low humidity environment and an improved electrostatic property in a high humidity environment. Chargeability is provided, presumably due to the stabilizing effect of the small amount of aromatic hydroxy carboxylic acid (A) on the metal compound of the aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid (A). |
