The present invention relates to a β-methyl carbapenem carboxyester derivative of the following general formula (1), a preparation method thereof and an antimicrobial composition comprising the same, wherein the β-methylcarbapenem compound of the following general formula (2) The compound of formula (1) prepared by reacting with a halide or sulfonate compound of formula (3) shows excellent antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria except Pseudomonas aeruginosa and shows high absorption rate upon oral administration. |
