abstract | In the biaxially oriented polyester film for the magnetic recording medium of the present invention, the intermediate layer (B) is composed of a blend or copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate, and both surface layers (A) are laminated in three layers of polyethylene naphthalate. It is a film, and the surface layer (A) contains 0.01 to 1.0 wt% of inert fine particles of 0.01 to 2.0 μm, and the thickness ratio of the A and B layers is 0.25 to 4.0, and the tensile stress (F-5 value) is 15 at the elongation. It has a value of kg / mm 2 or more, and has a Young's modulus of 750 kg / mm 2 or more in the longitudinal direction, a heat shrinkage of less than 2.0%, an average roughness (SRa) of 0.005 to 0.02, and an amount of oligomer per unit area of 5 mg / m 2 or less. It is characterized by excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength, dimensional stability and economy. |
