abstract The present invention relates to an antimicrobial peptide isolated from Korean toad (Bufo bufo gargarizans). The antimicrobial peptide of the present invention is composed of 39 amino acid residues having a molecular weight of about 433 Da, and exhibits strong antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram- Venus bacteria and yeasts. Therefore, the antimicrobial peptide of the present invention may be used as an antimicrobial agent, and may be developed as a wound healing accelerator, a traumatic agent, a mouthwash and eye drops.
