titleOfInvention | Human C3b / C4b Receptor (CR1) Proteins, Methods for Purification thereof and Uses thereof |
abstract | The present invention relates to the C3b / C4b receptor (CR1) gene and the protein encoding it. The present invention also relates to a CR1 nucleic acid sequence consisting of 70 nucleotides and fragments thereof and peptides encoded therein or proteins consisting of 24 amino acids. The invention also relates to the expression of the CR1 protein and fragments thereof. The genes and proteins of the present invention can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with complementary activity, various immune or inflammatory system diseases. In certain embodiments of the invention, an inferred amino acid sequence of a full length CR1 protein and fragments thereof is provided. Expression of the CR1 protein and fragments thereof is also described above. In addition, expression of secreted CR1 molecules lacking a transmembrane moiety is also detailed. Secreted CR1 molecules can be used to reduce myocardial infarction and reperfusion injury and to reduce inflammation-induced damage. |
