titleOfInvention Copolymerization of Styrene Monomer and Silane Coupling Agent and Method of Enhancing Adhesion of Fiber-Reinforced Polystyrene Resin Composites Using the Same
abstract Disclosed are an adhesion promoter between a fiber and a polystyrene resin and a method for enhancing the adhesive force using the same in a fiber-reinforced polystyrene resin.n n n The adhesion promoter of the present invention is a copolymer of a styrene monomer and a silane coupling agent, and the copolymer is purified by removing the polymerization inhibitor from the styrene monomer and the silane coupling agent, respectively, and then using azobisisobutyronitrile or the like as an initiator. It is polymerized by using benzene as a solvent in atmosphere.n n n As such a copolymer, poly (styrene-co-γ-MPS) prepared by copolymerizing a styrene monomer and γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (γ-MPS) (Poly (styrene-Co-γ-MPS) Is representative.n n n The method is also employed in the present invention by hydrolyzing such a copolymer in the presence of a solvent and then applying it to the reinforcing fiber surface to modify the fiber surface and to impregnate the modified fiber with the polystyrene resin.n n n The present invention is particularly effective when employing glass fibers as reinforcing fibers.n n n According to the present invention, in the fiber-reinforced polystyrene resin composite material, the adhesion between the reinforcing fibers and the resin is remarkably improved to greatly increase the strength and durability of the composite material, thereby solving the difficult problems in the art.
