Mineral substances preventing base reaction and methods of preventing the reactionn n n According to the present invention, a mineral substance containing silica and / or silicate reactive with a basic component is contacted with hydrogen peroxide and / or ozone in the presence of water to substantially change the reaction site of the mineral substance, thereby substantially preventing the reaction with the base. The same effect can be achieved by the presence of hydrogen peroxide and / or ozone in cement concrete materials consisting of basic reactive aggregates, hydraulic cements and water.
